There's a new term in the doll world it'called "Newborning". It sounds a lot like reborning doesn't it? So what's the difference? Reborning is the process of undoing what somebody else has already done on a doll and then redoing it the way you like it.In the reborning process that "undoing stage" can take quite a bit of time.In some cases I've been told that it can take a couple of hours just to remove all the paint,take off the eyelashes,pop out the eyes,sand off the hair lines,cut the body off the dolls head,cut the limbs away from the old cloth body...have I forgot anything...? Well,you get the idea. It's a lot of work if you take enough time to really do the job so that your doll comes out looking right.   By comparison Newborning does not require any undoing at all. That's right,the newborning doll kit is ready right out of the box for you to start getting creative. There's nothing to remove or rub off. Often times the newborn doll kit will come with high quality eyes like our Secrist dolls do. The best part is that you can avoid dangerous solvents and other chemicals that can have a bad affect on your health.You don't need to wash Secrist dolls,for example,because they don't have a factory residue on them like most vinyl dolls from overseas do. When you look at reborned dolls for sale on eBay you'll notice that just about all of them will tell you that they washed the doll before they started.Some reborners even wash Secrist dolls but it's really not necessary because they don't need it.They come to you squeaky clean!Newborning is like starting with a fresh,clean,and blank canvas.
